Deadline: 20-Jan-23
Applications are now open for the Third Edition of Ambassador for a Day 2023 Initiative, Thailand’s biggest and best-ever creative contest for International Women’s Day.
The 3rd annual “Ambassador for a Day” video contest is promoting gender equality in Thailand by mobilizing young people to lend their voices to the theme of “Innovation, technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”—the priority theme of the 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women in 2023.
Ambassador for a Day is an initiative of the informal Women Ambassadors Group in Thailand and the women leaders of the United Nations, initiated by the Ambassadors of Canada and India.
Why Should You Apply?
- This is your chance to learn and experience diplomatic life and real-world engagements with women ambassadors and women leaders from the United Nations in Thailand.
- This youth mentorship initiative is tailored as a ‘day-in-the-life’ learning opportunity offering insights into the world of international relations and key activities on sustainable development.
- All winning submissions will be featured on social media by host organizations.
Eligibility Criteria
- This year, the UN and Australian Embassy are taking the lead in co-organizing the event with the support of host organizations from the diplomatic corps and UN system in Thailand. Young people in Thailand aged between 16 and 25 will be invited to compete for a chance to “shadow” an ambassador or UN women leader in their organizations and attend the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) International Women’s Day commemoration (IWD 2023) on 8 March 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand.
- They are open to both Thai and non-Thai nationals residing in Thailand, including those from the LGBTQ+ or non-binary community, young people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
- You must have your parent or legal guardian’s consent to apply if you are under 18 years of age. You do not need to pay to enter this competition.
- Videos will be judged based on content quality, originality, presentation skills, remarkable video factor (do they want to watch it again) and fluency of your chosen language (Arabic, Dutch, English, French, German, Spanish, Tagalog and Thai).
