Deadline: 31-Aug-2025
Drake Music has opened applications for the third round of funding grants to support the creation of new accessible musical instruments.
DMLab is a collaborative project that brings together Disabled and Non-Disabled musicians, technologists, and makers to explore accessible music-making. The initiative includes regular events and meetups designed to foster inclusive opportunities in music creation.
This round of funding offers two seed grants of £1,000 each to support the development of brand-new accessible musical instruments. The aim is to support innovative ideas that address specific access needs in music-making.
Applications are open to individuals or teams, regardless of whether they are Disabled or Non-Disabled. The opportunity is available to musicians, developers, and instrument makers with creative and original concepts.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and based in England. Expressions of Interest are welcome from those who want to design instruments that meet access needs—either their own or others’.
The application process is designed to be accessible, allowing submissions in written, audio, or video format. The Expression of Interest form includes space to introduce yourself, explain your instrument idea, describe the access issue it addresses, and share links to past work or sketches of the concept.
