The U.S. Department of Education is seeking applications for “Educational Technology, Media, and Materials for Individuals with Disabilities: Center on Technology Systems in Local Educational Agencies” to improve early childhood, educational,and employment outcomes and raise expectations for all people with disabilities, their families, their communities, and the Nation.
Purposes
The purposes of the Educational Technology, Media, and Materials for Individuals with Disabilities Program are to:
- Improve results for students with disabilities by promoting the development, demonstration, and use of technology;
- Support educational activities designed to be of educational value in the classroom for students with disabilities;
- Provide support for captioning and video description that is appropriate for use in the classroom; and
- Provide accessible educational materials to students with disabilities in a timely manner

- State governments
- For profit organizations other than small businesses
- Independent school districts
- Private institutions of higher education
- County governments
- Special district governments
- Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- City or township governments
- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
- Eligible Applicants
- State educational agencies;
- LEAs, including public charter schools that operate as LEAs under State law;
- IHEs;
- Other public agencies;
- Private nonprofit organizations;
- Freely associated States and outlying areas;
- Indian Tribes or Tribal organizations; and
- For-profit organizations
