Deadline: 10-Jul-2025
The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is inviting applications for a program in Indonesia that supports Adolescent Education and Empowerment through Skills Development. This initiative focuses on addressing the learning needs of disadvantaged adolescents, especially adolescent girls and those with disabilities. The program is designed to be inclusive and will involve close coordination with relevant UNICEF sections throughout planning and implementation.
The program falls under the education sector, with a focus on skills development for adolescents. The indicative budget for this initiative is $25,000,000.
Expected outcomes include strengthening the capacity of District Education Offices in Pekalongan, Rembang, and Klaten to develop strategies that improve education service delivery in non-formal education (NFE). This will be achieved through a series of workshops to build capacity among key stakeholders in these districts.
Another key goal is to ensure that adolescents, particularly girls and boys in non-formal education, gain knowledge and skills in 21st-century learning and digital literacy. This will involve training at least 60 NFE teachers, conducting intensive digital and entrepreneurial skills development activities for approximately 1,000 adolescents (with at least 50% being girls), and supporting the creation of at least 10 innovative prototypes developed by youth to address real-world issues.
The project will be implemented in Java, Indonesia, and aims to empower youth through inclusive education and skills development that prepares them for a better future.
