The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) is inviting applications for its Young Professionals Programme which focused on the selection and recruitment of qualified young professionals from the Borrowing Member Countries (BMCs).
The successful candidates will be based at the Caribbean Development Bank’s (CDB) Office located in St. Michael, Barbados.
Programme Features
- YPP targets high potential young professionals with a strong passion for enhancing the social and economic development of the Caribbean region. This program offers participants an opportunity to gain valuable exposure and insights into international development.
- The Programme will run for a two-year period and is intended to provide the YPs with comprehensive experience of the Bank’s work, policy and processes. During the first year of the YP Programme, YPs will be assigned to the Department/Division to which they applied. During this first 12-month period YPs will be responsible for identifying an area of assignment for their second year, based on interest and professional competency. The CDB will make every effort to rotate YPs based on their specified interests.
- Areas of exposure may include: Infrastructure, Governance, Private Sector, Regional Cooperation and Integration, Agriculture, Gender Equality, Environment, Climate Change, Knowledge Management, Economics, Information Technology, Human Resource Management and Development, Legal Services, Financial and Risk Management, among others.
- The Bank will ensure that the YPs have a robust onboarding experience with an induction programme to ensure faster integration into the Bank’s culture, along with the support of senior team members as they navigate their way through the understanding the Bank’s operations.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be considered for the YP programme candidates must:
- Be a national of a Member Country of the CDB;
- Be no older than 32 years of age by December 31, 2022.
- Possess a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline that is relevant to the business of the Bank.
- Have a minimum of two (2) years’ relevant work experience in areas related to the Bank’s work.
- Must be fluent in English and possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
