Deadline: 07-Oct-2025
Applications are now open for the Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship Program for mid-career professionals in the arts and culture sector who want to grow as leaders and make a lasting impact.
The programme explores leadership in uncertain times by developing resilient and adaptive approaches to navigate global challenges, emphasises equity, diversity, and inclusion by tackling systemic inequalities and fostering inclusive practices within cultural institutions and leadership structures, and highlights sustainability and the role of culture by examining how the arts can contribute to social, environmental, and economic sustainability while empowering leaders to drive meaningful change through culture.
The fellowship runs for a duration of six to nine months, starting in September and ending in May. Fellows will come to the UK for two weeks in September, then return to their home countries before resuming their stay in the UK from January to May. During this time, participants will attend two intensive residential courses, typically held at Ashorne Hill near Leamington Spa, and take part in skills workshops, mentoring sessions, and a tailored secondment with a UK cultural institution.
Through the programme, fellows will benefit from a personalised leadership development plan, gain insight into UK cultural leadership practices, and acquire hands-on experience through their UK-based secondment. The fellowship is structured to provide not only learning but also practical exposure to strengthen leadership approaches in the cultural and creative sectors.
Each fellowship covers accommodation, living expenses, up to two return economy flights from the home country to the UK, course and conference fees, training and development costs, and travel within the UK.
Eligibility for this fellowship requires applicants to be citizens of Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Jordan, Lebanon, Mexico, or South Africa, and residents in one of these countries at the time of application. They must hold a degree equivalent to at least a good UK second-class honours degree or demonstrate equivalent professional training and experience. Candidates must also have completed at least five years of work experience and are encouraged to review the Clore Leadership key attributes.
Applicants must also meet the standard Chevening fellowship eligibility requirements. These include returning to their country of citizenship at the end of the fellowship, demonstrating leadership potential, and not holding British or dual British citizenship. Additionally, they must not have received UK Government scholarship funding within the last five years, and they cannot be employees, former employees, or relatives of employees of His Majesty’s Government or affiliated organisations as specified. The deadline for application is 7 October 2025.
