The Google.org Impact Challenge Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) is an open call for grant applications to provide grants to support initiatives that put digital inclusion at the heart of economic recovery.
The Challenge wants to empower nonprofit organisations, for-profit organisations and academic institutions with charitable initiatives that use technology and innovation to help individuals and communities gain new skills for the future.
To help ensure an inclusive digital future, the challenge calling on organisations across 11 countries to develop innovative and inclusive solutions that will support individuals and communities in need through economic recovery.
Funding Information
- Google.org will provide grants to selected organisations out of a €2M fund and may receive customised post-grant support to help bring their ideas to life.
- The Challenge expects each grant may range from €50,000 to €250,000, but will ultimately be allocated based on project needs.
- The Challenge encourages applicants to submit budgets that accurately reflect the scope of their proposal. Likewise, any additional resources provided will also be tailored to project needs.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Challenge is open to any not-for-profit charity, other not-for-profit organisation, public or private academic or research institution, or for-profit company with a charitable project that is located in one of the following countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia.
- Unfortunately, individuals without organisational affiliation are ineligible.
- For-profit businesses that are registered or formed under the laws of one of the eligible countries may apply if their suggested project has an explicit charitable purpose and they are willing to open source any IP created (or distributed) with the grant.
- Only one organisation may be the applicant of record, but the Challenge welcome and encourage collaboration – especially between technical and social sector experts.
- Applications should be submitted in English.
