By providing funding for strategic economic planning, the EDG helps communities identify and implement initiatives that drive sustainable growth and strengthen local economies. Projects are selected through a competitive application process, ensuring that funded proposals are impactful and well-aligned with community priorities.
Eligible applicants include Political Territorial Organizations (PTOs), Tribal Councils, First Nations and Métis communities in Ontario, as well as regional or provincial organizations representing First Nation, Métis, Inuit, or urban Indigenous peoples. Indigenous service providers are also eligible, broadening the range of organizations that can access support to enhance economic development within their communities.
