To commemorate the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, this program uses the power of American culture, sports, and innovation to deepen ties with the Salvadoran people. It aims to celebrate the long-standing friendship between the United States and El Salvador while showcasing American leadership and values.
The initiative highlights U.S. global leadership, promotes American artists and businesses, and emphasizes shared values such as prosperity, excellence, and security. It also seeks to strengthen bilateral relations through cultural, commercial, and educational collaboration.
Key goals include promoting cultural engagement by organizing events that feature American art, music, film, and literature, along with facilitating exchange programs between U.S. and Salvadoran artists. Sports diplomacy will play a role, with clinics and events led by American athletes and coaches to encourage teamwork and healthy competition among Salvadoran youth.
Innovation and technology are also a major focus, with workshops and seminars planned to introduce American advances and promote STEM education, entrepreneurship, and higher education opportunities in the U.S. Youth engagement is central to the effort, with targeted programs that immerse Salvadoran youth in cultural and sports activities inspired by American values.
The program offers a total funding pool of $100,000, subject to availability. Awards may range from $50,000 to $100,000, and all proposed projects should be completed within 12 months.
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, civil society groups, public and private educational institutions, public international organizations, and government entities. The program is specifically intended for projects based in El Salvador.
