The British Council is inviting requests for proposals from trainers with international experience in online training to deliver the Researcher Connect programme that aims to enhance the productivity of individual researchers and, in turn, provide client universities and research institutions with a competitive advantage in the fast moving international research environment.
It consists of a series of short interactive modules for researchers at the early stage of their research career and from any academic discipline.
The programme focuses on:
- Development of excellent communication skills using English language in international, multicultural contexts.
- Enabling learners to communicate their research effectively with a range of audiences in appropriate academic and/or professional styles.
The current Researcher Connect modules cover key aspects of research communication and are delivered through online training, including writing, speaking and listening components, supported by online materials.
Eligibility Criteria
Researcher Connect trainers should possess relevant online training experience, preferably acquired in an academic/international context. Trainers should also hold previous experience of delivering training in the UK, within the research sector/environment.
Trainers must have excellent proficiency in written and spoken English and must have experience of:
- Undertaking similar service(s).
- Delivering service(s) outside the UK and/or to an international audience.
- Developing training material for face to face and online delivery.
- Presenting findings, data and reports.
- Using online collaborative tools, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Teams.
