Deadline: 07-Nov-2025
The Improve Your Health is part of the broader Move Improve Remove initiative, a campaign designed to help older adults stay active, independent, and safe.
This component focuses on educating older adults, along with health and community workers, about the importance of nutrition, medication management, and cognitive health in preventing falls and promoting healthy ageing.
Applications are now being accepted for Improve Your Health grants of up to $5,000 (plus GST). The funding will support community-based projects in Western Australia to be delivered between March and May 2026. Projects should directly contribute to falls prevention among older adults by addressing healthy eating, safe medication use, or mental well-being.
Eligible applicants include incorporated community groups, not-for-profit organisations, local governments, health service units, retirement or lifestyle villages, and qualified health, community, or fitness professionals who work with older adults. Priority may be given to new applicants or those who have not recently received Stay On Your Feet® funding.
Certain costs and activities are not eligible for funding. These include core staffing and infrastructure expenses, significant equipment purchases, profit-making activities, unproven programs, or events held outside Western Australia. Restrictions also apply to allocations for incentives, professional development, or non-nutritious food and drink.
Hospitals and residential aged care facilities are generally not eligible, unless the project is aimed at community-dwelling older adults. Applicants must also hold an ABN to be considered.
This funding round presents an opportunity for organisations and professionals to design and deliver practical, community-led initiatives that directly support older adults to improve their health, reduce their risk of falls, and age well in their communities.
