Deadline: 30-Sep-2025
The Rising Stars Mentorship Programme by People Powered is now accepting applications for expert mentoring support to help launch or improve participatory programs. This online mentorship connects advocates, policymakers, and program managers (mentees) with on-the-ground experts (mentors) who provide practical guidance. The program offers coaching specifically for government officials, staff, and advocates facing challenges in designing or implementing participatory processes. Often, program managers are unsure what to do or whom to ask when confronted with difficult questions.
Participants begin by attending an online orientation that explains the program’s goals, expectations, mentoring process, and available resources. After reviewing applications, participants are matched with mentors or mentoring groups based on the type of participatory program, language, location, and specific challenges. Mentees then schedule calls with their mentors to discuss their issues and set goals for the mentorship. Each participant can have up to three calls with their mentor or group over six months. The program aims to help mentees gain confidence, knowledge, and skills to run more successful participatory programs.
Eligible countries include Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Faroe Islands, Georgia, Iceland, Israel, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Tunisia, Türkiye, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom. The program targets activists in civil society organizations and governments seeking approval for participatory programs, government officials and community partners planning participatory programs, and staff responsible for implementing these programs.
