Deadline: 15-Sep-2025
Huawei invites students to participate in the Munich Tech Arena Programme by joining one of two exciting competitions: “Head and ear parameters estimation from a set of multiple-viewpoint images” or “Pre- and post-processing for improving video compression.” Participants can choose their preferred topic and submit innovative solutions to shape the future of media technology.
This is a unique opportunity to demonstrate skills in analytical modelling, optimization, and simulation while gaining valuable experience and learning from industry experts. If you’re a student in Europe or the United Kingdom, this competition offers a platform to stand out and make a meaningful impact in media tech.
Winners of the competition will receive awards from a total prize pool of EUR 27,000. The first-prize teams will each receive EUR 6,000. Second-prize teams will receive EUR 3,000 each, and third-prize teams will receive EUR 2,000 each. Additional rewards include certificates, internship opportunities, Huawei souvenirs, and the possibility of a trip to China.
To apply, participants must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program—or be recent graduates (up to three years)—in Europe or the United Kingdom. Eligible fields of study include engineering, mathematics, computer science, and related disciplines. Participants must be 18 or older and not employed by Huawei or the event sponsor. Teams of 2 to 5 members are encouraged to register.
Applicants must submit a technical document of up to three pages (excluding references). The document should outline the core idea, technical solution, implementation plan, and any risks or challenges. Approved submissions will receive full marks for Phase 1, which counts toward 20% of the final score. Submissions must be uploaded as a PDF on the Agorize platform.
