Deadline: 29-Aug-2025
Pride Foundation Australia (PFA) has announced its second major grant round focused on supporting LGBTQIA+ refugees and people seeking asylum. As a national philanthropic foundation, PFA is dedicated to funding initiatives that address the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, asexual, and other sexuality, sex and gender diverse communities in Australia. The foundation’s mission is to drive systemic change and provide direct support to those most affected by inequality and exclusion.
This grant round seeks projects that benefit LGBTQIA+ refugees or asylum seekers in areas such as access to stable housing, education and workforce participation, community connection, and improved settlement outcomes. Projects can also focus on enhancing health and health literacy, building links to LGBTQIA+ services, supporting cultural development, and improving inclusivity and culturally safe practices across service delivery.
Funding is available for up to $20,000 over a two-year period. Eligible projects may include community development work, education and training initiatives, health and wellbeing programmes, applied community-led research with practical outcomes, and events such as arts and cultural programmes or conferences.
To be eligible, applicants must be incorporated organisations or registered businesses or associations with an ABN. Charity registration or DGR status is not required. Organisations that have previously received a grant from PFA may apply again, provided they have submitted a report (acquittal) for their earlier project.
Individuals are not eligible to apply. Ineligible expenses include capital works, vehicles, furniture or equipment, general fundraising efforts, travel, books, and religious activities.
