Deadline: 12-Mar-23
Applications are now open for the 2023 Teach First Denmark Program.
Admission days are held on the following dates: 20.- 21.3, 25.-26.3, 29.- 30.3 and 12.- 13.4. You must attend one enrollment day, and can expect an answer as to whether you have been accepted into the program by week 16 at the latest.
Major Subjects and Elective Subjects
- In the application form, you must wish to major. This is the main subject you study on the merit teacher education, which is part of the programme.
- You can choose between Danish and mathematics. If you are offered admission, the major will be stated in the offer. Your admission will be conditional on you still wanting the chosen major.
- You can choose mathematics as your main subject, even if mathematics is not part of your education. Several graduates with a non-mathematical education have discovered their talent for teaching mathematics. With mathematics as your main subject, you also get good prerequisites for developing interdisciplinary teaching at school.
- Have a chat with us if you want to hear more about what it’s like to teach mathematics and what it requires.
- Note: Many schools demand graduates who can teach mathematics. It therefore increases your chances of being admitted if you choose mathematics as your main subject. It is not possible to change your major after you have been admitted.
- After your admission, you will also choose 1-2 electives.
Geographical Area
- They collaborate with primary schools throughout the Capital Region as well as Kalundborg/the rest of Zealand. It is therefore of great value that you are flexible in relation to where you want to be a graduate. Regardless of which area you choose, they cannot guarantee you employment at a school close to where you live. The reason is that you will be employed at the school where there is the best match and where you can make the biggest difference.
- You must prioritize the area when you apply. If you are offered admission, the area will appear in the offer. Your admission will be conditional on you still wanting the chosen area.
- Note: It increases your chances of being admitted if you are flexible in terms of geographical area when you apply. It is not possible to change the area after you have been admitted.
