Deadline: 8-Feb-23
Applications are now open for Big Education Challenge, a £1m prize fund that will support and reward bold ideas with the potential to transform education and learning in the UK.
It will give both young people and experienced innovators the support and funding they need to bring their ideas to life, and to show a new way is possible.
Most young people don’t feel that education is preparing them for life and work, and all parts of society agree that changes to education and learning are needed and that new ideas need to come from the grassroots.
Prizes
There are two prizes:
- The £300,000 Groundbreaker prize will identify, support and reward young people aged 18-25 with a bold idea or new project.
- Up to 10 finalists will receive grants of up to £10,000 to further develop and test their ideas.
- One of these finalists will go on to win up to £50,000 to fully pilot their idea, with up to two runners up each receiving up to £25,000.
- The £700,000 Gamechanger prize will identify, support and reward individuals with a track record of leading innovative projects or approaches with a tangible social impact.
- Up to five finalists will receive grants of up to £50,000 to further develop and test their ideas.
- One of these finalists will go on to win up to £200,000 to fully pilot their idea, with up to two runners up receiving up to £150,000 and £50,000.
