British Council, in partnership with Clore Social Leadership, is offering 20-25 emerging leaders a lifetime opportunity to develop your leadership capacity and skills through a five-week online, self-access leadership course.
The course will develop your ability to become more effective in leading interventions to support gender equality and women’s leadership within your sector and/or community.

What to expect?
- A 5-week self-directed online course. Four to five hours a week. The programme is designed to fit around you and complement your day-to-day work.
- Self-reflection is key to this programme. They will nudge you to think critically about your own leadership
- A peer network for social change. You will have the chance to learn from and engage with a wider cohort of social leaders and change-makers.
- Approximately 20/25 participants per cohort.
- Certificate of completion.
- Work closely with the British Council the next 1-2 years.
Eligibility Criteria
Those interested to join this unique online leadership course should:
- Be above 18 years.
- Have been involved with a British Council project/programme within the last 3 years.
- Consider yourself as an emerging leader with the potential to grow as a leader.
- Hold positions of leadership (junior to middle level) and aspire to higher levels of leadership.
- Represent Civil Society, Arts and Educational organisations; ranging from NGO staff, government officials, school leaders to teachers/ lecturers.
- Have an interest in developing and practising leadership skills.
- Have basic leadership experience (school/university/community etc).
- Have a track record in working on or involved in women’s rights/gender equality and are committed to enhancing their leadership and influence in this area.
- Have good proficiency in English and good communication skills.
- Have access to a strong and uninterrupted internet connection with a bandwidth of at least albps/4G.
- Be able to commit 5-8 weeks’ time to:
- Be self-directed and complete the online course;
- Participate in weekly online live sessions of 45 minutes duration each;
- Join weekly reflection sessions organised by the British Council;
- Participate in a virtual networking event in March 2021.
