Deadline: 25-Oct-2025
The Four Winds Foundation offers valuable Funding opportunities for non-profit organisations across New Zealand.
These grants are designed to support projects that provide meaningful, non-commercial benefits to the wider community. Whether focused on health, education, sports, or the environment, the Foundation helps bring impactful initiatives to life.
Organisations involved in sports can apply for funding to support equipment, facility upgrades, and programmes that promote physical activity and teamwork. Community-focused groups working to strengthen social bonds or improve quality of life are also encouraged to apply. Similarly, health and welfare organisations, including rescue services, may be eligible for funding that supports their ongoing efforts to keep communities safe and healthy.
Funding is also available for educational projects and research that contribute to knowledge and opportunity, as well as for arts and culture initiatives that enrich society. Environmental groups and animal welfare organisations may seek support for conservation work and care services. The Foundation also considers applications from other groups whose work aligns with its charitable purpose, even if their focus falls outside the categories typically supported.
To be eligible, applicants must be registered non-profit entities such as incorporated societies or organisations with similar legal status. While not a strict requirement, being registered with the Charities Commission is considered an advantage.
Submissions received by this date are assessed during the last week of the following month, and successful applicants can expect funding to begin at the start of the month after approval. Each organisation is limited to one application per month and a maximum of four applications within any 12-month period.
Projects that include staffing costs or venue hire typically receive funding for a period of up to three months. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications early in the month to allow time for any questions or additional requirements to be addressed. This opportunity allows charitable organisations to continue their important work while receiving the financial support needed to grow and sustain their impact.
