Deadline: 7-Sep-25
Teach For India is now accepting applications for its transformative Fellowship Program, designed to revolutionize education across the country. This program invites passionate individuals to play an active role in addressing educational inequity and shaping the future of India.
As a Fellow, you’ll have the opportunity to develop critical teaching and leadership skills while becoming part of a powerful movement of changemakers. You’ll join an extensive network of educators, mentors, and alumni who are united by a common vision of providing quality education to every child. The fellowship fosters lifelong connections and collaborations, helping you gain new perspectives and leave a lasting impact.
Placed in under-resourced classrooms, you will be at the forefront of change, directly influencing the lives of your students. This hands-on experience builds leadership capabilities that are highly relevant in today’s fast-paced global landscape. Through real-world challenges, you will grow not only as a professional but also as a socially conscious leader.
The Fellowship offers an environment to explore your deeper purpose. You will understand how poverty and systemic inequity affect children in India. This awareness helps you discover your values, passions, and areas for personal and professional development.
Teach For India also helps you become a confident leader. You will learn how to envision bold goals, manage stakeholders, execute plans, and reflect on your work—skills that are crucial in complex environments. Fellows are part of a broader movement of over 4,000 individuals across India, working together with shared values and a deep commitment to change.
Your work at the grassroots level will not only impact children but also influence families and communities. This is your chance to help shape the India you dream of—an India that is free of poverty and rooted in love and justice.
Fellows receive multiple benefits including reimbursement for work-related expenses like school supplies, health insurance up to INR 100,000, access to counseling services, and paid leaves including casual, sick, national, and school holidays, as well as a summer break. After the Fellowship, you also gain access to Teach For India’s exclusive career fair.
The program offers a monthly stipend of INR 25,344. If you relocate for your placement, you will also receive a City Compensatory Allowance ranging from INR 6,000 to INR 12,600 depending on your assigned city.
To apply for the 2026 Fellowship cohort, you must be a graduate by June or July 2026, applying for the first time since July 2025, and be either an Indian citizen or hold Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI).
Teach For India looks for individuals who deeply believe in educational equity and have the potential to lead. Successful applicants show courage, a readiness to learn, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. They are driven by purpose and committed to making a meaningful difference in society.
