Deadline: 02-Oct-2025
The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) – Jerusalem Office has launched a call for proposals under the program SIGEWE – Support to the Institutionalization of Gender Mainstreaming & Women’s Empowerment in the National Palestinian Authority (AID 11279).
This initiative will contribute to the global effort of raising awareness and combating gender-based violence (GBV) in Palestine through a cultural and educational approach.
The contract involves organizing a theatre performance to be staged as part of the United Nations’ global campaign “16 Days of Activism Against GBV”, which runs from 25 November to 10 December 2025. The performance will focus on three critical gender topics: Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE), and New Masculinities. These themes aim to shed light on the physical, psychological, sexual, and economic violence that can occur in intimate relationships, promote women’s economic participation and independence, and encourage progressive, non-violent male roles within society.
With an indicative budget of up to €10,000, the contract will be awarded as a global price contract and will run for a short duration of 16 days, aligning with the campaign period. The theatre performance is expected to engage the public, spark dialogue, and support the broader mission of gender equality and human rights advocacy in Palestine.
Participation is open to both local and international for-profit and non-profit entities, including individual companies, universities, NGOs, and civil society organizations. Applicants must demonstrate at least five years of relevant experience—preferably in the MENA region—and show a proven track record in initiatives promoting gender equality and human rights. This opportunity aims to combine creative expression with social impact, using the power of theatre to challenge stereotypes and inspire cultural change.
