Deadline: 13-Jul-2025
The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is inviting expressions of interest for a program focused on skilling, employment, and the social upliftment of young women aged 18 to 29 in Rajasthan, Jharkhand, and Odisha.
This initiative aims to provide digital access, including hardware and internet connectivity, in rural areas. Girls will be enrolled in the Digital Girls’ Hub through Common Service Centre Academies, NGOs, colleges, and local partners. Participants will receive digital and employability training, personal scheme cards, bank accounts, health IDs, and social protection coverage under government schemes such as PMJDY and NDHM.
UNICEF will support these young women in transitioning to employment in sectors like IT, retail, banking, and e-commerce. They will receive guidance for completing digital courses, and access to apprenticeships, jobs, or entrepreneurship opportunities. The program also plans to integrate data tools into state government systems to enhance access to financial schemes.
The initiative will create a network of over 200 trained women field agents, known as “Computer Didis,” who will carry out door-to-door facilitation, raise awareness, and assist with documentation and registration. Applicants can choose to implement the program in one, two, or all three states.
Partners are expected to mobilize at least 5,000 young women on the YuWaah digital platform. These candidates may be drawn from colleges or training centers, provided they are not currently enrolled in placement-linked programs and have completed a six-month cooling-off period if previously enrolled in such schemes.
All enrolled women must complete a 10-hour self-paced online employability course. The goal is to place all 5,000 participants in jobs or paid apprenticeships/internships. At least 75% must secure employment, while up to 25% may take internships or apprenticeships with a minimum stipend of ₹5,000 or as per government norms.
Every participant must be a female resident of the targeted states and receive at least three social protection services—Aadhaar update, bank account, and a Health ID (ABHA). All targets must be met by December 31, 2025.
Organizations should indicate their preferred districts and may propose placement targets ranging from 2,000 to 5,000. Selection will be based on sector expertise, relevance to expected outcomes, and cost-effectiveness.
