Deadline: 01-Sep-2025
The Embassy of France has launched the 5th edition of its “Dwabo” Small Grants Programme, focusing on the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) of women. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to health, education, gender equality, and reducing inequalities.
The programme prioritizes the protection of bodily autonomy and SRHR for women, girls, and vulnerable groups. It aims to improve access to reproductive health services, including contraception, family planning, sexuality education, and the right to choose a spouse. It also focuses on equal access to justice and protection from all forms of violence.
Empowering women, girls, and sexual minorities is central to the programme. It supports efforts to prevent early marriage and teenage pregnancy, promote menstrual hygiene management, and ensure access to sanitary products. Projects that encourage sustainable behavioural change and advocate for supportive legal frameworks are also encouraged.
Grants will range from €10,000 to €15,000 per project, with a maximum implementation period of 12 months. Legally registered civil society organizations (CSOs) in Ghana are eligible to apply. This includes CSOs affiliated with networks or coalitions, or those with a presence at the regional or district level, either independently or through partnerships.
Certain activities are ineligible for funding. These include individual sponsorships or scholarships, events that are solely workshops or conferences, projects in the formal education sector (except in special cases), equipment costs above 7% of the total budget, and any activities supporting political parties.
