Deadline: 08-Aug-2025
The Kyiv Human Rights Hub is inviting applications for its Small Grants Competition, “Ability to Impact.” This initiative offers broad support to Ukrainian civil society organizations (CSOs) through small grants, training, analysis, and networking opportunities. The program is focused on strengthening the capacity and advocacy skills of CSOs involved in human rights, democratic governance, anti-corruption, education, and aid for vulnerable groups—especially during wartime.
The goal is to reinforce civil society as a key force in democratic transformation, human rights promotion, and public policy development. Projects should aim to be sustainable, effective, and impactful in the current challenging context. Special attention is given to initiatives that support vulnerable communities, foster equality, and uphold transparency.
Eligible proposals must address one of the following themes: promoting equal rights and anti-discrimination, building capacity of human rights organizations, advancing civic education at regional levels, or supporting advocacy related to national or regional human rights agendas.
Grant amounts range from 70,000 to 115,000 Norwegian kroner, with a project duration of 6 to 12 months. Activities may include legal and psychosocial support to victims of war, monitoring assemblies or legal processes, designing governance reform proposals, public awareness campaigns, media outreach, and promoting equal rights through education and advocacy.
However, some activities are not eligible for funding. These include actions that incite civil unrest or discrimination, fines or penalties, duplicate funding from other sources, debt repayment, political or religious activities, and the purchase of secondhand items or residential real estate.
Only registered Ukrainian charitable organizations and public associations listed as non-profit entities are eligible. Businesses, government bodies, political parties, and religious organizations are excluded. Applicants must not be undergoing bankruptcy or be registered in temporarily occupied territories.
To apply, organizations must submit copies of their charter, registration documents, non-profit status confirmation, 2024 financial reports, and CVs of project personnel.
