The Roma Education Fund has launched SHAPYR – a program to support the study and employment of Roma youth.
The program will be implemented between April 1, 2018 and December 31, 2022, for four academic years in Hungary, Slovakia and Romania.
By implementing the program, the Roma Education Fund would like to contribute to the increase in the number of Roma with vocational qualifications and to the labor market opportunities of young people who have completed their studies.
Within the framework of the program, in the 2021/2022 academic year, they will support 50 students from Budapest, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County.
Grants provided under the program:
- scholarship
- professional support – mentor, tutor
- language course
- developing interoperability skills
- job search assistance
Eligibility Criteria
The application may be submitted if the applicant:
- of Roma origin
- 9-13. studying in grade
- studying in a grammar school, technical school (formerly: vocational grammar school) or vocational training school (unfortunately they cannot accept applications from grammar schools providing general training, music high schools),
- Studying in Budapest, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county or Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county
