The European AIDS Treatment Group (EATG), European Sex Workers Rights Alliance (ESWA [formerly ICRSE]), and Association Legebitra (Slovenia) invite a total of 20 youths (18-30 years) to attend the online e-MPOWER Training Programme from February to March 2022.
This 8-week long, twice a week (totalling 24 hours), online, modular training programme for young people is designed and delivered by a team of Peer Youth Trainers to provide sexual health education and personal development training for youth interested in learning more about the sexual and mental health needs of sex workers, people living with HIV, and LGBTI+ persons.
The e-MPOWER Training Programme is hosted by EATG, ESWA and Association Legebitra as part of the project “Partnership to overcome challenges of online learning and to empower youth actors in the field of sexual health promotion, in the COVID-19 era” (e-MPOWER). This project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme.
Expected Outcomes
- EATG, ESWA, and Association Legebita intend to bring together and equip 20 young individuals from these populations with relevant knowledge and skills to become stronger sexual health and rights advocates and to support their communities.
- Trainees will be connected with fellow youth activists as well as experts in the fields of sex workers’ rights, HIV treatment and prevention, and LGBTI+ mental health. After completing the full e-MPOWER Training Programme, Trainees will receive a certificate of completion.
Eligibility Criteria
The e-MPOWER Training Programme is intended for youth (18-30 years) activists belonging to key populations (sex workers, people living with HIV, and LGBTI persons) who are already involved in, or looking to become more active in the field of sexual health.
In addition, the desired Trainee profile is as follows:
- Must be located in an Erasmus + Programme Country.
- Be 18-30 years old.Identify with at least one of the target populations.
- Ability to contribute to discussions on sensitive topics in a respectful and safe manner.
- Good English oral and writing skills.
- Willingness to learn and share ideas with peers.
- Motivation and interest in learning more about peer-to-peer activism.
- Familiarity with online meeting tools (Zoom).
