Deadline: 30-Sep-2025
Applications are now open for the Global Teacher Prize, a prestigious award that has been celebrating outstanding educators for a decade. The prize seeks visionary teachers who are transforming learning, solving local challenges, and making an impact far beyond the classroom.
The winner will receive a life-changing award of US $1 million. This global recognition is open to currently working teachers who educate children aged five to eighteen in compulsory schooling. Educators working with children aged four and above in Early Years programs recognized by the government are also eligible.
Part-time teachers and those who teach online courses can apply, as long as they spend at least 10 hours a week teaching children face-to-face. Applicants must also intend to stay in the teaching profession for at least five more years.
Teachers from every type of school and from any country, as permitted by local laws, are welcome to apply. The application allows for a maximum of 10 supporting files, including text, images, audio, or video.
Each text or photo file must be no more than two pages and should not include links, as these won’t be reviewed. Files can be in JPEG, PDF, or other accepted formats, and must not exceed 5MB each. Video or audio files can be hosted online, such as on YouTube, and must be under two minutes long.
Applicants can also include URLs to live campaign pages or websites relevant to their work, making sure all access details are accurate and functional. Extra answers beyond the required questions will not be considered during judging.
