Deadline: 03-Aug-2025
The Enel Foundation and Sustainable Energy for All have opened applications for the first edition of Open Brazil Power, an educational program designed to prepare young Brazilian professionals for leadership in the energy sector. The program combines technical, regulatory, and business training aimed at driving Brazil’s clean energy future.
In its first year, the program will select up to 30 Brazilian participants, with at least 50% being women. Participants will engage in leadership and professional development activities delivered in partnership with leading academic institutions from Italy and Africa.
The 2025 program includes online modules taught by institutions like GESEL at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Politecnico di Torino, Politecnico di Milano, and SDA Bocconi. The program is designed to offer a complete understanding of the electricity sector to enable participants to make meaningful contributions in both public and private sectors.
The first part, the Digital Brazilian Module, will run online between mid-August and mid-September 2025. It will explore Brazil’s energy transition, including topics such as sustainable development goals, innovation in power systems, policy, regulation, carbon markets, and governance. At the end of this module, participants must complete a final online multiple-choice test.
The Italian Module will be an eight-week online course during the fourth quarter of 2025. It will cover advanced topics including Additive Manufacturing, ICT in energy networks, climate change, energy transition economics, and decision-making under uncertainty.
After completing the Italian module, alumni may be invited to participate in Enel Foundation’s educational initiatives and events, contributing as mentors or instructors.
Eligible applicants must be Brazilian citizens aged 24–35, currently living in Brazil or planning to return by the end of 2025. They must have completed a PhD, MBA, or Master’s degree by July 17, 2025, with at least one degree from a Brazilian university. Applicants must be proficient in English (CEFR C1) and committed to gender equality in the energy sector. Those with only a Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a graduate program are not eligible.
Selection will be based on applicants’ academic background, professional experience, motivation, and reference letters. Up to 30 participants will be chosen for the Brazilian Module. The top performers, based on final assignments and engagement, will be invited to join the Italian Module.
Applicants are required to submit a CV, academic certificates and transcripts, a copy of their ID, a motivation letter (max 700 words), and two reference letters from professionals in academia, industry, or government.
