Deadline: 30-Sep-2025
The Classical:NEXT is looking for the boldest, most inspiring and forward-looking music, projects, topics and formats for the 2026 edition.
Whether it’s early or contemporary, traditional or experimental, live or recorded, educational, artistic or focusing on technology or business, what matters is that it’s heading NEXT. This is your chance to take a more active role or let your project shine – and of course to help shape the future of the industry.
Classical:NEXT is the global hub for classical and art music innovators. It’s where ideas are born, projects are launched, and the future of the genre takes shape. Each year, the event brings together the international community for an inspiring programme featuring an interactive Conference, Project Pitches, Showcase concerts, Film Showcases, an Expo, the Innovation Award and countless networking opportunities.
Classical:NEXT is inviting proposals from music professionals in all sectors, including artists, managers, presenters, orchestras, labels, educators, press, media, filmmakers, tech innovators, and publishers.
The program is open to everyone who is pushing the boundaries of the global art and classical music scene. An independent jury of international experts curates the program, championing bold ideas and a rich diversity of voices while carefully reviewing each proposal to create a balance of geography, gender, themes, and instrumentation.
Proposals are being accepted for several types of opportunities. Showcase concerts are an ideal format for soloists and small ensembles to present fresh repertoire, innovative approaches, and new concert formats to Classical:NEXT delegates. For 2026, artists can apply for both daytime and evening performances.
For a different atmosphere, club showcase concerts are presented after sunset in a more casual, club-style setting. The organizers are seeking proposals from international soloists, small ensembles, and DJs to create sonic experiences for the classically curious.
Conference sessions are a way to share ideas, spark dialogue, and find solutions together. The jury is looking for hands-on, interactive sessions in collaborative formats where participants will leave with valuable insights and practical tools. Quick-fire, 9-minute presentations known as project pitches are a cost- and time-effective way to present artistic projects with captivating visuals.
Additionally, applicants can submit documentaries, artist profiles, or cultural stories for consideration in Film Showcases. Submissions for Film Showcases will open in September, and interested parties can subscribe to the newsletter for updates. The application closes on 30 September 2025.
