Deadline: 30-Jun-2026
The Horizons Regional Council has announced its Environmental Education Transport Fund.
Schools and ECE Centres in the Horizons Region can apply for a bus fund to help with the costs of field trips to specific iconic sites in the region. To be eligible, the field trip must be to one of the following locations: The Manawatū Estuary, Te Āpiti – Manawatū Gorge, Tōtara Reserve Regional Park, Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre, Otorohanga Kiwi House, Bushy Park Tarapuruhi, or Central Energy Trust Wildbase Recovery Centre.
Schools can apply for up to $500 (excluding GST) annually, with the funding period running from July 1 to June 30,2026. The funds can be used for bus transport or for petrol for a school van, which is reimbursed at a rate of 55 cents per kilometer. The fund is open all year or until all funds have been allocated.
If your application is successful, you will need to submit an invoice made out to the Horizons Regional Council. The invoice must include a PO Number, a GST number, and a breakdown showing the GST portion of your payment separately.
