The Foundation for Roma Education (FOR) announces a public call for improving and learning English and German for young members of the Roma national minority, with the aim of better positioning on the labor market.
Certified foreign language courses enable additional improvement of skills and knowledge for young people of Roma nationality, thus strengthening their competences for employment.
The English and German language courses are implemented as part of the project “Promoting the employability of young Roma women and men – phase II”, with the support of the German Financial Cooperation program implemented by the German Development Bank KfW on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Germany – Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Details
- English and German language courses are held for up to three months;
- Classes are conducted online;
- To follow classes, it is necessary to have a computer and an Internet connection;
- Participants of English and German language courses are obliged to regularly attend classes in accordance with the plan and program of the school of foreign languages;
- At the end of the course, all participants receive certificates for successfully mastering the level of foreign language learning they will attend.
Eligibility Criteria
The following can apply for the competition:
- Young Roma women and men residing in the territory of the Republic of Serbia;
- Persons with at least a three-year high school diploma;
- People open to improving and acquiring new knowledge and skills;
- Young people ready to establish and maintain effective relations with people of different national and cultural order;
- People dedicated to the basic goals of the Roma Education Foundation. They especially encourage young Roma women to apply for the competition for attending English and German language courses.
Selection Criteria
- When submitting an application, it is necessary to state the reasons and motivation for learning and improving the English or German language.
- Remark:
- After collecting the received applications, in relation to the defined competition criteria, candidates who meet the requirements participate in a standardized selection process and upon completion receive feedback on the outcome of the process. Candidates will be informed about the outcome of the competition at least five days before the start of classes.
- FOR reserves the right to organize additional interviews with candidates and approaches to selection when making a decision.
- As part of the third cycle of competitions for attending English and German language courses, the Roma Education Foundation can support 50 young Roma women and men . When selecting candidates, priority will be given to candidates who attended German and English language courses in the previous cycle.
