Deadline: 06-Nov-2025
The Stanley Thomas Johnson Foundation (Johnson Stiftung) invites applications that closely align with its core activity areas: performing and visual arts, support for persons affected by conflict or violence, medical research, and access to education grants.
Applicants should present projects run by nonprofit organisations from Switzerland or the UK, emphasising innovative, high-quality interventions, often in under-funded sectors, and geared towards generating specialist knowledge or long-term impact.
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organisations, foundations or associations with legal status, and individual recipients in the case of educational grants. Projects must not be primarily commercial, nor simply cover operational or infrastructure costs of existing programmes. Applicants promoting political or religious agendas, or replicating government responsibilities, are typically excluded. Additionally, the Foundation does not support projects already underway with financial shortfalls.
Applications must be submitted online before the specified deadlines, in languages appropriate to the support sector (for example German, English or French). Any attachments must be in PDF format and follow naming conventions. Decisions are communicated after board meetings, and projects cannot commence before formal approval. Recipients are required to use funds strictly for the approved project, sign a grant agreement (especially if the funding exceeds certain thresholds), and comply with reporting requirements, including interim and final reports, budget statements, and visibility of the Foundation’s support.
This funding opportunity offers a chance for nonprofits engaged in arts, education, humanitarian or research work within Switzerland or the UK to access support, provided they meet the eligibility and project quality criteria and are committed to long-term, sustainable impact.
