Deadline: 08-Sep-2025
The European Commission (EC) has launched a new call for proposals to strengthen societal resilience against information manipulation and disinformation in the Eastern Partnership region.
The overall goal is to equip societies with stronger tools and capacities to detect, counter, and resist false and misleading information. The focus is on supporting civil society, fact-checkers, and independent media to build long-term resistance against foreign information manipulation and interference (FIMI) and disinformation campaigns.
The specific objectives include increasing the capacity of civil society organizations, independent media, and fact-checkers to identify and respond to disinformation. Another key goal is to improve media and digital literacy, particularly among citizens in rural and underserved communities.
Priority areas for funding include efforts to counter disinformation and FIMI, promote fact-checking and investigative journalism, expand digital and media literacy, and strengthen regional and cross-border cooperation. Enhancing overall community resilience against manipulation is also a major focus.
The total indicative budget available for this call is EUR 5,000,000. Each grant must fall between EUR 4,900,000 and EUR 5,000,000. Projects must have a duration of at least 40 months and cannot exceed 44 months.
To be eligible for this grant, the lead applicant must already be a beneficiary of a Financial Framework Partnership Agreement (FFPA) under the call EuropeAid/178230/DH/ACT/Multi. Only entities with a structural link to the lead or co-applicants can be considered affiliated entities. This includes entities that are legally or financially tied through control, such as parent or subsidiary companies, or through membership in a shared network, federation, or association.
