Deadline: 15-Oct-2025
Applications are now open for the Holohil Grant Program, which supports research and educational work focused on endangered species. The program assists various researchers and agencies by offering Holohil transmitters at a reduced or no cost for projects that demonstrate strong conservation value and sound scientific design.
Historically, Holohil has donated transmitters primarily for bat and raptor research. However, they are now expanding support to include a broader range of species. The goal is to back projects that are not only important for the species studied but also contribute meaningfully to conservation, research, and public education.
Each quarter, Holohil will donate up to CAD$2,500 toward the purchase of transmitters for selected projects. To be eligible, projects must significantly use Holohil transmitters for data collection and aim to advance science, promote conservation, educate the public, or study underrepresented species of notable research or conservation value.
The program is open globally to both scientists and non-scientists. Submissions are accepted from anywhere in the world and evaluated quarterly. Applications are judged on several factors, including the necessity of transmitters, project design, scientific contribution, public engagement—especially with youth—and the urgency or novelty of the study species or location.
Applicants should download and complete the Holohil Grant Program application form, keeping the project summary to a maximum of 500 words. Applications can be submitted by email at any time to be included in the current evaluation cycle.
Winning applicants are expected to stay in contact with Holohil, acknowledge their support in all project-related communications, and provide a one-page project report. The report should include up to 500 words, photos of the transmitters in use, key outcomes, and the long-term implications of the research.
