Deadline: 25-Aug-2025
Trefoil is offering Personal Development Grants to support young people in Scotland under the age of 25 who have additional needs—whether psychological, social, or physical—that impact their development.
These grants aim to promote personal growth and independence, whether through educational, social, or moral development. The funding is intended for cases where statutory funding is unavailable, inappropriate, or insufficient. It is not meant to replace statutory funding but can be used to complement or top it up when necessary.
Each grant is capped at £2,500. Applications are open to both individuals and organisations. All funded projects or activities must include a clear structure and agreed-upon evaluation criteria before the award is made.
These criteria are to be decided jointly by Trefoil, the applicant, and a supervising body. The final decision on the level of the award is at the discretion of the Trefoil Trustees and appeals will only be considered under exceptional circumstances.
Generally, projects that fall within the remit of statutory funding are not eligible, but Trefoil will consider match-funded initiatives supported by local authorities or other charities.
