Deadline: 22-Sep-2025
The British Council is inviting qualified UK further education colleges and training organisations to apply for a new international collaboration opportunity. This initiative is aimed at institutions looking to expand their international networks and strengthen their global working capacity.
The selected UK-based organisation will enter into an International Skills Partnership with peers in Morocco. Collaboration will take place with the Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion (OFPPT), Morocco’s largest provider of technical and vocational education and training (TVET), along with two of its affiliated centres specializing in construction and public works. These include the École Mohammed VI near Casablanca and the Institut Spécialisé de Technologie Appliquée du BTP near Rabat.
The partnership will focus on advancing sustainable construction training. Participants will exchange knowledge in several key areas, including the integration of digital tools in TVET delivery, embedding sustainability and climate education into curricula, encouraging the participation of women and girls in construction careers, and the use of green building techniques, materials, and energy-efficient designs.
Successful applicants will receive up to £25,000 in grant funding to support various partnership activities. These may include reciprocal visits between the UK and Morocco, staff involvement (limited to 30% of the grant), and the creation of tools and learning resources.
The program aims to foster a network of local and global stakeholders in the skills sector. It also seeks to improve understanding of effective skills development, better prepare young people for employment, and increase awareness of the value and methods of international collaboration. The project is expected to lead to new training practices at both the institutional and policy levels and to develop high-quality, industry-relevant skills.
To be eligible, proposals must include a lead institution based in the UK. This must be a further education college listed by the Education and Skills Funding Agency or the Association of Colleges, an independent training provider, a membership organisation involved in the TVET or further education system, a sector skills organisation, or an awarding body.
Proposals may also include associated partners such as employer organisations, other educational institutions, charities, NGOs, government bodies, civil society groups, or social enterprises. However, for-profit non-education organisations are not eligible to receive grant funds, except for travel-related expenses.
