Deadline: 01-Dec-2025
The Turtle Conservation Fund is inviting applications for grants to support pilot conservation projects focused on tortoise and freshwater turtle species listed as Critically Endangered or Endangered on the IUCN Red List. The fund will also consider proposals for species that are not currently listed but could become priority species with more information on their population status or threats.
Selected applicants will enter into a contract with either Re:wild or the Chelonian Research Foundation to carry out the proposed work. Grantees are encouraged to publish at least part of their findings in Chelonian Conservation and Biology, an international scientific journal dedicated to turtle research and published by the Chelonian Research Foundation.
Each grant may provide up to $5,000 for conservation efforts targeting high-priority species. Smaller grants of $3,000 or less are also available and particularly welcome for pilot studies or to support young, emerging conservationists from developing countries, especially women and individuals from underrepresented communities who may have limited experience.
Applicants must use the official TCF Proposal Template, keeping proposals to about 15 pages, not counting references. CVs for each applicant must not exceed five pages. Proposals should be submitted in 12-point font and may include relevant photos and a map, but the overall file size must remain under 5 MB.
