Deadline: 11-Aug-2025
The Climate Change Action Grant stream is now open to small not-for-profit community groups, organisations, and schools. This funding supports projects that create positive environmental outcomes and contribute to the City of Greater Dandenong’s efforts in addressing climate change.
Grants of up to $5,000 are available for eligible projects. The aim is to support initiatives that promote climate action, reduce environmental impact, and build resilience within the community.
Projects may focus on a range of goals, including increasing action and awareness on climate change, reducing water consumption and carbon footprints, promoting sustainable commuting, and preparing vulnerable populations for climate-related challenges. Efforts that enhance community resilience to future environmental shocks are also encouraged.
To apply, organisations must be not-for-profit incorporated associations or similar legal entities, or be formally supported by one. Applicants must either be based in or deliver services to residents of the City of Greater Dandenong and must be in good standing with any past grant conditions. Public liability insurance of at least $20 million is required, or applicants must show that their activities are otherwise covered.
All projects must be implemented within the grant period. Individual artists may apply for community-led arts or cultural projects up to $5,000, but projects over that amount must involve partnerships with local organisations.
Schools are eligible only if their proposed activities fall outside regular responsibilities and benefit the wider community. Standard school events like curriculum-based activities, concerts, and sports do not qualify.
Grants will not be awarded to individuals (except artists under specific conditions), political groups, government agencies (except schools or volunteer groups under certain circumstances), or organisations with outstanding reporting obligations from previous grants.
