Expected Results
- The Ayana’Ajirawaa II program considers four strategic approaches that guarantee the sustainability, relevance, and reach of interventions:
- Community Strengthening: Promotes the participation of communities, children, adolescents, and local stakeholders in decision-making, planning, and implementation. Includes participatory WASH assessments, community leadership, and capacity building.
- Provision of Wash Services and Supplies and Innovation: Implements systems adapted to rural, ethnic, and dispersed areas, with nature-based solutions, alternative energy, and resilient WASH goods. Includes differentiated water access schemes, community management models, self-construction of latrines, and handwashing stations.
- Scalability and Sustainability: Generates evidence to scale and replicate sustainable models and influence rural water and sanitation public policies.
- Use of Evidence for The Promotion of Children’s Rights: Promotes the exchange of good practices, generates primary information, and strengthens the continuous improvement of climate-adapted and child-centered WASH solutions.
