The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is kindly request to submit your proposal for “Development and implementation of training and capacity building programmes under the GoI-UNDP project on Biodiversity Finance Initiative”.
UNDP seeks to engage a Service Provider to develop and implement training and capacity building programmes for select target groups (with special focus on relevant corporate groups and State Biodiversity Boards) to ensure effective implementation of the two financial solutions on Corporate Social Responsibility & Access and Benefit Sharing.
Key objective of the task is to ensure effective implementation of the two financial solutions on Corporate Social Responsibility &Access and Benefit Sharing, by way of awareness generation, training and capacity building of relevant public and private sector stakeholders.
- Develop and design one guidebook on business and biodiversity (20-25 pages) and 5 days virtual capsule training programme on business and biodiversity to be institutionalized in the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA).
- Making a roster of experts to conduct 5 days online capsule training programme on business and biodiversity, under relevant training programme of IICA. Per day session can range from minimum 1.5 to 3 hrs.
- Pilot test 1 virtual capsule training programme along with the IICA and UNDP inviting experts mentioned in the roster.
- 1 National level virtual investors meet on business and biodiversity in partnership with MoEFCC, NBA and UNDP. The virtual meeting will be by invitation only and will have maximum number of 20-30 participants including corporate groups, technical experts, representatives from MoEFCC, Ministry of Corporate Affairs NBA, IICA, UNDP and other relevant institutions.
- Organise 1 virtual webinar on mainstreaming biodiversity in business (CSR & Non –CSR) in partnership with NBA, UNDP and IICA.
- Organise 1 virtual national stakeholder consultation workshop including representatives from NBA, select SBBs, MoEFCC and UNDP BIOFIN India team, other technical experts and relevant institutions to discuss the concept and way forward in development of a national level guideline for transfer of funds accrued at national and state level through ABS, to the benefit claimers.
- Develop and design a national level guideline on transfer of funds accrued at national and state level through ABS, to the benefit claimers. This guideline should build on the evolving guidelines and regulation on ABS. This will be done in consultation with select State Biodiversity Boards (SBBs), National Biodiversity Authority (NBA), MoEFCC, UNDP, relevant technical experts and select corporate groups.
- Seek comments on the national level guideline from the SBBs, NBA, MoEFCC, UNDP, relevant technical experts and select corporate groups.
- Revise the national level guideline based on inputs received from the SBBs, NBA, MoEFCC, UNDP, relevant technical experts and select corporate groups.
- Organize one national level validation workshop (virtual) to validate the guideline on transfer of funds accrued at national and state level through ABS, to the benefit claimers. This workshop should have participation from select State Biodiversity Boards, National Biodiversity Authority, MoEFCC, UNDP, relevant technical experts and select corporate groups. This workshop will be in person and to be clubbed with the national annual meet of the State Biodiversity Board organised by the National Biodiversity Authority.
- Implement the validated methodology in one pilot state, preferably, where considerable amount of ABS money is collected but not transferred to beneficiaries. The selection of state will be in consultation with NBA and UNDP.
- Develop one training manual for enhancing capacities of State Biodiversity Boards on adoption of guideline on transfer of funds, accrued at the state level through ABS, to the benefit claimers. The training manual should also include process documentation of pilot intervention in this regard, highlight challenges faced during the pilot and possible solutions for implementing the guideline.
- Conduct on training workshop (virtual) for enhancing capacity of State Biodiversity Boards on adoption of final validated guideline on transfer of funds accrued at the state level through ABS to the benefit claimers.
- Support UNDP in developing a long term vision document on enhancing resources for biodiversity conservation and natural resource management
- Service provider should have successfully completed at least one assignment involving training and capacity building relevant to the requirement of this RFP.
- Service Provider should have developed at least 3 training modules, manuals/guidebooks/ knowledge products for capacity building of stakeholders in the area of natural resource management/biodiversity/climate change/ SDGs/ environment and Sustainability etc.
- Service provider should have at least 2 year of experience of working with both public and private sector in the area of Natural Resource Management / Biodiversity/other relevant areas as per the requirement of the RFP
