Deadline: 18-Feb-22
Climate Tracker is pleased to announce a new cycle of their Climate Journalism Mentorship Program.
During the fellowship period, each journalist will receive mentoring from their team of mentors, while they work on group training to strengthen their knowledge of climate change storytelling.
Their goal is to make you famous for the weather stories you generate.
This is a great opportunity to hone your skills, expand your networks and increase your visibility as an outstanding professional.
To promote your stories and reach larger audiences, you will have the opportunity to choose from the following options:
- Newsletter Contribution: You will produce a first-person adaptation of your story in their Climate Weekly. With this, they will be able to try out the newsletter format.
- Podcast Interview: You will be interviewed about one of your stories for their Climate Tracker Weekly podcast. They will experience this platform and learn about the process of creating their own show.
- Live Interview on Instagram: You will do a live interview via the Climate Tracker Instagram account and get to experience a live video!
- Twitter Special Interview: Do a live interview on the Climate Tracker Twitter account. This will allow you to experience the Twitter Spaces format and live interviews.
- TikTok Video – You will write a 3 minute script for a TikTok video to represent one of your stories in a fun, creative and innovative way.
What do they look for in their interns?
Ideal candidates will have:
- Between 18 and 35 years old
- At least one year of journalism experience
- Hunger to improve as journalists: this is a learning experience
- Proven expertise in climate stories
