The GreenMind Hackathon 2025 invites participants to design environmentally responsible AI solutions that address real-world challenges while minimizing carbon emissions and energy consumption.
The hackathon focuses on creating AI solutions that are efficient in energy consumption, deployable on low-power hardware such as CPUs or edge devices, scalable and commercially viable, and ethically and environmentally sound. The objectives encompass innovation to solve real-world problems with creative AI approaches, sustainability to minimize environmental impact through efficient AI practices, viability to create solutions with clear business potential and market fit, and impact to address meaningful challenges across diverse industries.
Organized by Green Computing Foundation in collaboration with Bangalore BioInnovation Centre, Software Technology Park of India, and Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, this hybrid hackathon targets students, startups, and corporate teams across three distinct tracks.
The event structure spans 15 days with online registration and evaluation leading to shortlisted entries. The inauguration and kickoff occur on November 1, 2025 in hybrid format, followed by virtual mentorship and solution development from November 2-14, 2025. Final solution presentations take place in-person in Bangalore on November 15, 2025.
Eligibility requires minimum Bachelor’s first year for students, with team sizes ranging from 1-5 members across the three tracks for students with faculty, startups, and corporates. Participants receive comprehensive support including challenge guides, emission measurement tools, lightweight AI models, green development environments, expert mentoring, and participation certificates.
Awards include cash prizes, internship and incubation opportunities, and industry recognition.
