Deadline: 30-Aug-2025
The U.S. Embassy’s Public Diplomacy Section in Dhaka has launched an open call for proposals to implement programs that promote U.S. exports and enhance the business environment in Bangladesh for American companies.
This initiative is designed to strengthen commercial engagement, improve market access, and increase awareness of U.S. standards, products, and practices. Programs should feature strong American connections and involve Bangladeshi businesses, entrepreneurs, civil society, and policymakers.
Target participants may include small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), business associations, chambers of commerce, and academic or trade institutions. Proposals must address five key areas: export promotion, trade facilitation, intellectual property, transparent practices, and innovation.
The program seeks to raise awareness about American products and services, support transparency in business operations, and promote fair trade and protection of intellectual property. It aims to build stronger trade relations between Bangladesh and the United States by expanding commercial opportunities and educating stakeholders about U.S. business norms.
It encourages support for Bangladeshi SMEs in understanding U.S. market-entry standards and business ethics. It also seeks to help trade-focused organizations strengthen their operations and adopt transparent practices aligned with international standards.
Another objective is to foster inclusive collaboration among government, academia, and private sectors to strengthen trade and investment ties. The program also aims to promote U.S. innovation and technology, including frameworks like the Artemis Accords, and to showcase American energy solutions by involving stakeholders in discussions around clean and advanced energy options.
The total funding available is $24,990, with individual award amounts capped at the same figure.
Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organizations such as think tanks and NGOs, alumni associations, and both public and private educational institutions.
Projects will not be considered if they involve partisan political activities, direct charity or social services, construction, religious promotion, fundraising, lobbying, scientific research, commercial ventures, internal growth of the applying organization, duplication of existing efforts, or illegal actions.
