The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) hereby invites suitable organizations to submit an application under this Call for Site Selection for this component of the GCCA+ Project.
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT) and the European Union (EU) Delegation to Trinidad and Tobago are partnering under the Global Climate Change Alliance Plus (GCCA+) Initiative, which aims to address national renewable energy awareness and implementation through the installation of small rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) facilities, at remote communities and public institutions across Trinidad and Tobago.
The objective of this Call for Site Selection (CFSS) is to solicit and select suitable sites from remote communities and public institutions across Trinidad and Tobago. This CFSS will address national renewable energy awareness and implementation through the installation of small rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV).
This initiative is grant funded and comprises the following steps:
- the solicitation and selection of suitable sites from different sectors of the country
- the technical analysis and evaluation of suitability of a shortlisted number of sites following a screening process
- the implementation of the photovoltaic system, followed by
- training of successful respondents in the operation and maintenance of the system.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications will be drawn from a number of sectors within Trinidad and Tobago. These sectors are: Health, Agriculture and Food Production, Public Utilities and Infrastructure, Social Services and Education. This call is open to entities such as NGOs, microenterprises, cooperatives, government entities and public institutions including divisions of the Tobago House of Assembly. Responses will be grouped and assessed by Sectors so that the installation of solar photovoltaic systems spans different areas, demonstrating maximum variability and flexibility in application.
