The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-Viet Nam) would like to invite expressions of interest from eligible individuals and organizations who are interested in providing translation and interpretation services for the USAID Vietnam Biodiversity Conservation project.
WWF is implementing the USAID Vietnam Biodiversity Conservation project, a 5-year USAID funded project implemented in partnership with Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the provincial governments and other implementing partners. Targeting high conservation value forests in Quang Nam, TT Hue, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh and Lam Dong provinces and Cat Tien and Cuc Phuong National Parks.
USAID Biodiversity Conservation is a 5 year-project starting from July 2020 to June 2025. The USAID Biodiversity Conservation project (the Project) aims to maintain and increase forest quality and protect and stabilize wildlife population in high conservation value provinces (Ha Tinh, Lam Dong, Ninh Binh, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Quang Tri, and TT Hue).
Objective
- USAID BC Project is seeking to enter a long-term agreement with a company’s/consultant team to provide quality, timely and professional translator/interpretation services from English into Vietnamese and vice versa. As a result of this request for proposal for the service, the USAID BC project has the right to establish a non-exclusive long-term agreement with multiple companies/consultant teams for the initial term of 1 year with an option to extend the period with subject to satisfactory performance by the service provider.
Strategic Approaches
- The USAID BC project has four strategic approaches:
- SA1: Promote Conservation-Friendly Enterprises in Forest Dependent Communities.
- SA2: Strengthen Management of Special-use and Protection Forests.
- SA3: Increase Functionality of Law Enforcement Systems for Forest and Wildlife Crimes.
- SA4: Reduce Local Demand Through Behavior Change Methodologies.
- To achieve the project’s goals, it is required to conduct various events, workshops, conferences, meetings, training. The project’s technical officer sections also develop technical documents, tools, and communication materials that require adaptation into English and Vietnamese. Audiences include the USAID BC project, government counterpart, the media, and communities as well as the international community. To meet such needs, having highly qualified professional English and Vietnamese translator/interpretation services is vital.
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum five years of professional experience in translation (For translation service)
- Demonstrated experience in translating professional documents;
- Outstanding translation and editing skills in Vietnamese and English;
- Past work with USAID BC/WWF will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of USAID BC project terminology will be considered an advantage
- Proven experience of translation/interpretation services;
- Experience working with international development organizations is desirable;
- Demonstrate effective organizational skills and the ability to handle work in an efficient
