The Digicel Foundation invites registered steelbands operating in Trinidad and Tobago to apply for one of the 10 Technology in Education (TIE) Centres for 2025.
The Digicel Foundation “TIE Centres” Initiatives aims to provide a safe and inclusive space for youth to access technology, learn new skills, and develop their digital literacy.
TIE Centres can be found in rural communities, orphanages, domestic violence shelters, public schools and pan yards.
Duration
- Projects will be implemented within 6-8 weeks.
Eligibility Criteria
- You must have the following
- Afterschool Programme – that shows current youth engagement
- Designated Space – owned/accessible to the band, large enough to host 3-5 computers with appropriate furniture
- Sustainability Plan – showing plans to continue to improve outreach with this new investment
- Applicants must show proof of registration, and ownership/permission for use of space.
- Applications must provide evidence that:
- The project can be sustained
- Show how the project will provide opportunities for the target audience
- The project will have a significant impact on the beneficiaries
