In order to allow women journalists from West Africa to practice daily the type of investigation, the Norbert Zongo Cell for Investigative Journalism in West Africa (CENOZO) launches the pilot program Empowerment of women journalists of the West Africa through Data Journalism.
The pilot phase of the said program will focus on Burkina Faso and will only concern women journalists established in this country. It is a project which aims to improve the conditions of women and minorities, by strengthening the journalistic capacities of women and the granting of subsidies for the realization of investigations denouncing the facts of violation of the rights of women and children and people living with disabilities.
To start its project, CENOZO is looking for applications from women journalists based in Burkina Faso. The best profiles to be selected will receive training in evidence-based journalism and data journalism. At the end of the training, the beneficiaries will each receive a grant for the production and distribution of a journalistic survey which will be the subject of discussions during round tables with political decision-makers as well as actors from civil society.
Composition of the application file:
- A resume;
- Links, copies (PDF, audio or videos) of published surveys or reports;
- A survey project aimed at exposing the facts of violations of the rights of women, children, the disabled and all minorities;
- A cover letter.
