The Triggerfish Animation Studios is inviting applications for a unique opportunity to contribute to a powerful Pan-African awareness campaign on women and entrepreneurship.
Commissioned within the framework of the European Unions Team Europe Initiative on Investing in Young Businesses in Africa (TEI IYBA), this animated short film will spotlight inspiring stories of female entrepreneurship and challenge gender-based barriers through vibrant, culturally rooted visual storytelling.
Theyre looking for concept artists and creatives to co-create a film that reflects Africas rich cultural diversity and entrepreneurial energywhile celebrating women as changemakers in their communities.

What Youll Do
- Design characters, environments, and visual motifs inspired by your region
- Contribute visual concepts that celebrate female entrepreneurship
- Participate in creative workshops and mentorship with Triggerfishs top animation directors and art leads

- An authentic creative voice grounded in your local culture
- A passion for shaping stories that empower and uplift
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to practising artists aged 18+ from Kenya, Togo, Senegal, South Africa, Benin, Tanzania, or Malawi
- Applicants must have strong visual storytelling skills in concept art, character, or environment design
- Collaborative entries allowed (submit under one name/contact)
- Submit a portfolio, a Love Letter to Your Country (written or visual), and a mood board on Female entrepreneurship in my community
- All submissions must be original and free from third-party rights
- Submissions reviewed by industry professionals
- Selected artists notified by [Insert date]; jury decisions are final
- Selected artists will take part in remote mentorship and creative sessions
- This is a paid opportunity (details in artist agreement)
- Artists retain rights to submitted work; work developed for the project may be licensed or co-owned as per agreement
- Artists will be credited in project outputs
- Professional, respectful conduct is expected at all times
- Triggerfish may remove artists for misconduct or breach of agreement
- Personal data used only for application purposes, stored securely
- Triggerfish may amend or cancel the call without notice
- Applying implies acceptance of these terms
Application Requirements
- A portfolio showcasing your concept, character, or environment artwork (other creative forms like fashion, comics, graffiti also welcome)
- A love letter to your country written or visual (Why do you love it? What hopes do you hold for its future?) (in English or French)
