The Embassy of Finland is accepting proposals for its 2016 Fund for Local Cooperation (FLC) with an aim to promote a more dynamic and responsible private sector. Support to private sector development will directly target MSMEs in order to accelerate their growth and their contribution to both job and wealth creation in the Zambian economy.
Objectives
- Women’s economic empowerment through inclusive business
- Improved entrepreneurial skills of women entrepreneurs through coaching/training, mentoring or similar approaches
- Increased growth and competitiveness of women enterprises through increasing access to markets in Zambia and/or outside Zambia
- Increased growth and competitiveness of women enterprises through increased access to finance for women entrepreneurs
- Promoting innovative products or business approaches by women enterprises
Funding Information
The total amount available for FLC projects in 2016 is € 81 000 and only 1-2 well-targeted, result-based projects will be funded.
Eligibility Criteria
- The organisation shall have the capacity to contribute to the objectives of Finland’s development policy
- The organisation(s) should have a genuine, credible domestic basis, and the proposed programme should not be launched or fully financed by the donor community.
- Activities proposed should reach a large audience and have potential for a broad impact.
- The organisation shall have the capacity to initiate project planning and to invest its own resources in project implementation.
- The applicant organisation or institution must be reliable.
- Networking, cooperating and coordinating with other organisations is encouraged.
- Activities strengthening local and Finnish cooperation are encouraged.
