Deadline: 13-Jan-23
The Gunnedah Shire Council has opened the 2023 Gunnedah Community Scholarship Fund (GCSF) and is calling for applications from local students under 25 years of age.
Gunnedah Shire Council established the Gunnedah Community Scholarship Fund (GCSF) to encourage local students to embark on a journey of learning. Through the GCSF, Council hopes to encourage students to aspire to be all that they can.
Offers of financial assistance are given on the basis of need, and are not tied to any particular educational institution or academic scoring system. Students must have the scholastic capacity to complete a tertiary course. Merit will then be based on the applicants’ motivation, contribution to the community, ambition, likelihood of returning to a rural area and the needs of the Gunnedah Shire community.
Eligibility Criteria
- Local Students (any person under 25 years of age by 31 December in the year of first application) who have attempted the HSC at a Gunnedah Secondary School, or the Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation at Gunnedah TAFE, or completed the HSC at a Secondary School within a 100km radius of Gunnedah with family’s principle place of residence within Gunnedah Shire.
- Accepted into an approved tertiary course (minimum Certification IV).
- NOT in receipt of another scholarship in excess of $5,000.
