aKoma is now accepting applications for Amplify II, the second cohort of Fellowship for Content Creators and Storytellers in Africa.
Amplify provides Fellows in the capital cities of Rwanda, Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana (added in 2017) a brew of online, face to face, and field instruction in written, visual, audio and photography content creation, delivered by a thoughtfully curated group of subject matter experts in those fields
Program Outcomes
- building the creative muscle: weekly creation of stories by each fellow, posting at least twenty four stories during the program
- digital tools and skills: online collaboration tools, plus digital content creation platforms are provided to the Fellows for free to enhance their creative flow
- foundations of a creative community: the Fellows travel, engage and collaborate with each other on stories and projects.
- pair reviews and collabos: Fellows are paired every week to review and critique each other’s work providing real life exposure to the creative process.
Eligibility Criteria
- The program is:
- Looking for originals, applicants cut from that unique creative ilk that defines an amazing creative.
- Not looking for ordinary people. Instead program wants content creators and storytellers that are non-conformists who are laser focused on making the authentic yet fantastic stories that Africa deserves, stories that the world will use as the lenses with which the real Africa is viewed.
- Looking for photographers, videographers, writers, animators, graphic artists, storytellers.
- Looking for those young, hungry creatives that are ready to take their creative aspirations to the next level.
- Requirements:
- Applicants should reside or be available in one of these locations:
- Applicants must commit to 8-10 hours every week to participate in Amplify activities. No exceptions will be made. Please do not apply if applicant can’t make this commitment.
- Be able to show samples of work, and have a visible presence on social media that displays work on the web.
